When your day ends, but your mind doesn't
You've finished work. The laptop is closed. There's finally time to relax.
But your mind has other plans.
You replay conversations from earlier in the day. Your to-do list starts growing again. You think about tomorrow, worry about things you can't control, and find yourself mentally exhausted even when you're doing nothing.
Your body is resting. Your mind is still working.
And the harder you try to switch off, the more frustrating it becomes.
The answer isn't always in your thoughts
We often try to calm an overactive mind by reasoning with it, distracting ourselves or forcing ourselves to relax.
But calming down isn't just a mental process. Your nervous system plays an important role in how safe, settled and relaxed you feel.
Learning to recognise and respond to your body's signals can help you interrupt the cycle of racing thoughts and physical tension.
That's what this workshop is about.
What you'll learn in 90 minutes
1. Recognise your body's warning signs
Learn to identify your personal signals of stress and overwhelm using a practical Body Map.
2. Calm yourself in the moment
Learn and practise TIPP skills — practical techniques designed to help you regulate intense emotional and physical responses.
3. Help your nervous system slow down
Experience simple vagus nerve practices that can help your body settle and make relaxation easier.
These aren't just concepts to understand. You'll practise techniques during the session so you can begin using them in everyday situations.
